Barbara Hennessy

Barbara S. Hennessy has over 20 years of experience assisting people with disabilities.  She has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with a specialty caseload of deaf/hard of hearing people for the State of Florida.  She then worked as a program manager for employment services at Abilities of Florida (now ServiceSource of Florida).  She supervised ten staff members in Central and South Florida that provided services for Vocational Rehabilitation clients.  

Since 2009 she has contracted with Rehabilitation Advisors in Orlando as a Vocational Counselor to provide vocational assessment or case management services for disabled veterans and injured workers.  Barbara earned a Master of Science degree in Exceptional Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She is a nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) holding and maintaining the certification since 1998.  

Barbara also owns and operates “The Joy Within LLC”, a private practice of emotional trauma recovery and chronic pain relief.  She is a Level One certified BSW Intervention System coach and has completed the Level One Employee Family Support Program (EFSP) training for Employee Support Worker.
